7 Minute Mindfulness Review – Can This Program Really Live Up to it’s Claims?

Spread the love

Welcome to my 7 Minute Mindfulness Review.

For regular readers of my website you may notice that this product review is a little different from the norm.

I typically focus my reviews on products that have been specifically designed to combat various sleep disorders, whereas at first glance this program may not appear altogether related.

Allow me to explain.

Mindfulness and meditation (or mindfulness meditation if you will) is something that was first introduced to me 2018. By then, I already classed myself as an insomniac, and had spent a number of years looking for solutions.

However, once I took a step back and looked at the bigger picture, I started to realize that my many sleepless nights were typically caused by the multitude of emotions I went through on a daily basis.

Most days I was angry, frustrated, constantly overthinking, and obviously extremely stressed out.

It had never previously occurred to me that if I dealt with my vast array of emotional issues I might actually start sleeping better at night. Go Figure.

I will say that the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program is something that should be of interest if you want to know more about::

  • Self Improvement
  • Overcoming Stress and Anxiety
  • Achieving Goals
  • Improving Relationships
  • Improving Your Finances
  • Decluttering Your Mind
  • Improving Your Relationship With Your Mind and Body
  • And of course, Better Quality of Sleep

The 7 Minute Mindfulness Program is an audio guide for people who want to practice mindfulness, but don’t wish to spend hours and hours a day trying to de-stress, sleep better, and flourish in every aspect of life.

I think the best way I can describe mindfulness is the practice of being in the present moment without judgment of your thoughts.

Mindfulness has become extremely popular in the 21st century (although it has been around for hundreds, if not thousands, of years), as we all tend to lead very hectic lives, and sometimes just slowing down and giving ourselves time to think can be an extremely attractive proposition.

From a personal perspective, I am a constant worrier and overthinker, and I didn’t realize what an impact this was having on pretty much every area of my life.

However, the thought of self-improvement or personal development seemed like a great idea to me, but just how would I fit this into an already busy schedule.

Enter 7 Minute Mindfulness.

If you’re anything like me you don’t want to have to set aside many hours a day in order to get some form of control over your life. Even though it’s hugely important. I mean, who’s got the time for that?

But, what I have discovered over the years is that it’s not so much about how much time you put into something like mindfulness, but more about building consistency.

The 7 Minute Mindfulness Program works on building consistency by allowing you to practice mindfulness for just a few minutes a day, thus helping you to de-stress and literally look at the world through different eyes.

The 7 Mindfulness Program claims it will:

  • Release tensions and stress that build up every day.
  • Unleash your creativity and allow you to express yourself.
  • Slow your heart rate and care for your long-term health.
  • Help you to take control of negative thoughts, emotions, criticism, and guilt.
  • Help you to be more present for the people who matter in your life.
  • Boost your mental performance and easily achieve your goals.
  • Nurture better communication and relationships.
  • Prime your mind so you’ll know how to make your contribution to the world.

Who is Behind The 7 Minute Mindfulness Program?

Allow me to introduce Greg Thurlston.Greg Thurlston wearing a blue shirt with his arms crossed

Greg is someone who started out life with a number of physical problems, more specifically he was born with a club foot and one leg shorter than the other.

Over the years this led to additional problems such as, uneven hips, spine, back and neck, as well as scoliosis and arthritis.

Greg faced various physical and psychological challenges throughout his early years, but he was also desperate to find a solution to his issues.

He explored yoga and meditation during his time at university and actually found that this had a profound effect on nearly every area of his life.

Greg says that his mood and concentration improved immensely and he felt far more creative than he ever had before. He even claims that his physical pains became a lot more tolerable.

However, much the same as for many of us, his life became busier and his meditation habit soon took a back seat, until he stopped altogether.

By now Greg was working in what he termed an “uninspiring job” and he just didn’t have the time to concentrate on himself and his personal development.

This is when he decided to quit his job and as he puts it, “explore the possibilities of what the mind and body can do.”

The next 5 years of his life involved traveling to places like Australia, Thailand, Cambodia, Spain, Brazil and Germany.

He took in every ounce of knowledge about meditation, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection.

He investigated what modern science tells us about the mind and even learned about traditional Zen practices.

He focused on solutions to our everyday worries that are easily maintainable and achievable for anyone.

Greg eventually teamed up with a publishing company to produce the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program, which has now been successfully used by thousands of people.

How Does The 7 Minute Mindfulness Program Work?

You’ll receive a total of 10 audio programs, a guidebook, a guidebook audio program (just in case you’d rather listen to the book than read it in its entirety), plus 3 additional bonuses.

You can work your way through the audio programs on a daily basis for the first week or so, but as Greg points out, you may find that a particular audio suits your mood for that day, or even that you have a favorite.

I have found that the “Turning Anxiety into Love and Joy” and the “Delta Sleep Track” are my personal favorites, and I tend to listen to these far more than the others.

For me, I personally listened to two of the audio tracks immediately after downloading the program, and then eventually settled in to read the guidebook.

The main aim of the program is to delve a little deeper into mindfulness each and every day. You will learn to train your body to become more relaxed, as your mind automatically becomes more mindful.

By simply listening to one audio a day (or more if you want) you will notice that you feel the effects throughout the day.

What Do You Get With The Program?

Audio 1 – Body Scan – This audio program lasts for 7mins 48secs and connects you to the present moment by systematically relaxing the mind and body.

Audio 2 – Boat Ride of Calm – 7mins 57secs. You will use visualization techniques to quickly invoke calm.

Audio 3 – Three Part Breathing – 7mins 44secs. This audio is based on a powerful yoga breathing technique. It helps to calm the mind and body and increase oxygen supply to the blood, while releasing tension.

Audio 4 – A Calmer Breath – 7mins 48secs. Discover how to strengthen your mind-body connection in order to create calmness.

Audio 5 – Declutter and Create Space – 7mins 48secs. Much the same as the techniques used in “A Calmer Breath” but delves a little deeper.

Audio 6 – Find Your Calm – 7mins 11secs. Using affirmations to find calmness.

Audio 7 – A Tranquil Journey – 7mins 52secs. Simply lie back and follow the calming storyline with your imagination.

Audio 8 – Turning Anxiety into Love and Joy – 8mins 26secs. This audio combines breathing techniques, awareness of the body, and using your imagination to release anxiety and find love and joy.

Audio 9 – BONUS Audio – 15-Minute Mind-Body Relaxation – 15mins 43secs. This is for when you need a deeper and longer mind-body relaxation technique.

Audio 10 – Delta Sleep Track – 8mins 24secs. This audio should be listened to once you’re in bed and getting ready to sleep. The track helps you to let go of all your thoughts from the day and sink into a deep, relaxing sleep.

The Seven-Minute Mindfulness Guidebook – 181-page guidebook that explores mindfulness in far more detail. The book will look through centuries of traditional healing and wellbeing practices, as well as exploring modern-day science and technology.

The 7 Minute Mindfulness Audiobook – An audiobook version of the guidebook.

Bonus 1Your Little Book of Mindfulness Exercises – a PDF outlining some great mindfulness techniques. You will find some that are already in the main guidebook, as well a number of extra exercises.

Bonus 2Mindful Millionaire Formula – This PDF guide will teach you 20 mindset traits used by the rich and famous in order to help you reach your financial dreams.

What Did I Think of The 7 Minute Mindfulness Program?

To be completely honest, I absolutely love the program. I’m not one for giving a 10 out of 10 rating in any of my reviews, so this will have to make do with a paltry 9.5 out of 10.

For me, the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program is a game-changer. A Woman Wearing a Blue and White Striped Dress Giving The Thumbs Up Sign

I initially looked into mindfulness as a way to calm my mind before I went to sleep. Yes, a regular mindfulness practice will definitely help to improve the quality of your sleep, but it also gives you so much more.

The stresses and strains of everyday life had a massive impact on how I was typically feeling day in, day out, and yes this affected my sleep.

But, I then realized this was a vicious circle – terrible night’s sleep led to a terrible day, a terrible day led to a bad night’s sleep, and so on.

I listen to the audios every day now, and I use some of the writing prompts and affirmations almost daily.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few things within the program that I just can’t come to terms with or get my head around, but that’s okay (I just don’t feel affirmations work for me, no matter how hard I try, but I guess you have to really “believe” what you’re saying. Unfortunately I don’t).

The value I have received from a $17 is immeasurable.

Pretty much everything about the program is great in my book.

If I had one complaint, it would be a small one, but a complaint nonetheless.

After purchasing the program you will have to go through a series of upsells before you can get your hands on the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program – 3 to be exact.

Now, these are completely separate products and programs and although some of you may find these additions interesting or worthwhile, they weren’t for me.

So, I had to decline each upsell until I finally got to the program (Okay, it only took 3 clicks and less than 30 seconds, but still).

With that being said, this is how modern-day online marketing works, so I can’t be overly critical. Furthermore, I’m sure that the additional programs offered are fantastic in their own right, and if you believe you will benefit from them, then please go ahead and purchase one, two or all three of the upsells.

As I said, they just weren’t for me.

Product Pros

  • Available as an online version for just $17
  • Can be purchased as a physical product for $99
  • The Program is ideal for anyone who suffers from stress and anxiety, sleep problems, or simply for those who want to improve their finances, relationships, and overall lives.
  • A wide variety of audios, PDF files, guidebooks, etc.
  • All the audios are short enough that you can fit them in anywhere in your day
  • The program comes with a 60-day money back guarantee
  • Simple and Easy to understand for anyone who has struggled with mindfulness in the past (Me)
  • From a personal point of view, this is one of the best programs I have had the pleasure to use and review. Can you tell I’m a fan?

Product Cons

  • For me, too many upsells once you’ve purchased the product. But, as I say, if these are of interest to you, then go for it.

Final Thoughts

As you can probably tell I thoroughly enjoy using the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program. I have heard others describe it as “nothing groundbreaking”, but I guess this comment was aimed at people who have used mindfulness for many years.

If you are like me and want something simple and quick that can make a huge difference to your daily life (and the way you sleep), then I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

You are even covered by a 60-day money back guarantee if for any reason you aren’t satisfied with the program (please let me know why if this is the case, I’ll be intrigued to hear your views).

So, the 7 Minute Mindfulness Program gets a massive thumbs up from me.

  1. I’m always up for anything that helps me sleep better, and when it comes to mindfullness I’m definitely up for it.

I’ve used many apps, techniques, and youtube videos over the past few years. I’m not the beginner I think.

Many Thanks for raising people’s awareness how they can improve quality of their sleep.

    Best wishes

    • Hi Rani,

Thank you for your kind comments.

I’m glad to hear that you’re a fan of mindfulness. As I’ve mentioned in my review, this does appear to be a huge thing in the 21st century.

I’m rarely use other forms of media now, as I love the way that Greg has compiled this program, and literally everything you will ever need is in one place.

      Thanks

  2. Hi
As you say mindfullness is all the rage in the 21st century. I know it came from somewhere, or was adapted from one Eastern tradition but strangely it isn’t obvious which one it came from. It has become so ubiquitous that in the West is seems to be synonymous with meditation. Indeed now many in the West assume that meditation and the mindfulness variant thereof are one and the same. I guess I am fortunate in that respect. Like Greg Thurlson I started meditation many years ago. But I guess unlike Greg I stuck with it. I have never had a problem getting sleep. I also now have advanced techniques which work a treat to ensure sleep. I find it interesting that, for example up to about the 1960’s the word meditation in the West was assumed to mean contemplation and poets often used it that way. Then in the late 60’s and 70’s meditation came to mean meditating using a mantra. Then as Zen gained in popularity meditation came to mean emptying the mind. And now it is mindfulness or possibly even guided mindfulness. Interesting how things and perceptions change.
    Best regards

    • Hi Andy,

Thank you for your insightful comments.

Actually, I tend to agree with your theory of the ever-changing view on meditation throughout the years.

I’m glad to hear that you have practiced meditation for so long, and it appears it has had a positive impact on both you and your quality of sleep.

      Thanks

  3. I like these personal development programs like 7 Minute Mindfulness. I don’t think of them as an ultimate solution for life, but rather as a cool ways to learn something new about myself. This one seems like a great way to learn more about the technique of mindfulness meditation. Some people may find it tricky to do this with all the noise we receive from out outter world, so I think programs like these are great aid in practice. Thanks for sharing this review.
