8 Minute Meditation Review – The Victor Davich Smash Hit Remastered

Spread the love

Welcome to my 8-Minute Meditation Review. The Cover of the 8 Minute Meditation Book - Quiet Your Mind. Change Your Life.

For regular visitors to my website you will be aware that any products I review I will generally look to see how they can improve the quality of your sleep.

One thing I have come to realize over the years is that, for me personally, my lack of sleep and insomnia were mainly caused by my overactive brain never shutting up.

Don’t get me wrong, through many years of research I have discovered that there were numerous things I was doing wrong, which typically led to my sleepless nights.

However, I was constantly stressed out, felt anxious, and there was this non-stop chatter going on in my head (pretty much all negative stuff).

This is when it became obvious to me that if I could try to get my mind under control then I would probably sleep better at night.

There are various practices I now have in place, which allow me to remain calm and stress-free, and meditation is just one of these.

So, I am always on the lookout for meditation-based products (well, actually anything that can help to calm the mind), new and old, and today I’d like to provide you with my review of 8-Minute Meditation.

What is The 8-Minute Meditation Program?

Product: 8-Minute Meditation

Price: $27.95

Cheapest Place to Buy: 8minutes.org

Type of Program: eBooks and Guided Audio Meditations

Guarantee: 60-Day Full Money Back

My Rating: 7.5 out of 10

I guess I would call the 8-Minute Meditation Program an introduction to meditation for those of you who may feel a little intimidated by starting such a practice.

The product is made up of two stress reduction eBooks and a guided meditation audio.

Now I have come across various reviews rubbishing the product and saying that it simply isn’t possible to make a difference in your life from just 8 minutes a day.

In fact, there are many so-called “experts” who claim that you need to meditate twice a day, typically for 20-30 minutes at a time, to make a real difference in your life.

This sounds great in principle, but if you are completely new to meditation, this can seem a little daunting and many people never actually start the process because they have no idea where to begin.

So, I would say that if you are completely new to meditation then the 8-Minute Meditation Program may be just what you’re looking for.

The product creator provides a clear, concise, non-ideological and practical way to get started with meditation.

If you are someone who has experience of meditating then this product probably isn’t for you.

With that being said, I think it’s also important to note that the original product (not this newly remastered one that I am reviewing today) is over 15 years old, at the time of writing.

Who is the Person Behind 8-Minute Meditation?

The original 8-Minute Meditation book was written by Victor Davich.

Davich is recognized as an authority in areas such as meditation, mental fitness, and stress reduction.

He is a best-selling author of the (original) 8-Minute Meditation and The Best Guide to Meditation books, which have sold over 100,000 copies.

Victor first began to meditate as a second-year Law student, as he himself admits he was a, “Very stressed-out, nervous person.”

He discovered the techniques of meditation at this time, and decided to practice for practical, rather than spiritual, reasons. Davich simply saw this as a way to get himself through Law School.

Victor claims, however, that once he had started meditating he realized that not only was this going to help him through Law School, but it was potentially going to change his life.

Davich went on to become a business affairs attorney, and has also worked as a producer and marketing executive for Fortune 500 advertising agencies and film studios, including Universal TV and Paramount Pictures.

He has continued to meditate throughout his entire working career.

The 8-Minute Meditation Program has been endorsed by physicians at the UCLA Medical School and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Best selling author, Richard Carlson, of “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff” fame has also given the program his backing.

In fact, the program has been featured in Cosmopolitan, Natural Health, SHAPE, OUTSIDE, KCBS-TV, and TIME Magazine called his innovative system, “The most American form of meditation yet.”

How Does The 8-Minute Meditation Program Work?

As I’ve mentioned, the original product was just a book, which was published in June 2004.

It was this one book that set Victor on his way, and the original book has been spoken about in the highest terms by all and sundry.

However, today this original concept has been expanded upon, and you will now have access to 2 stress-reduction eBooks and a 16-track, 8-week audio program of guided meditations (I’ll even include one of these in the video a little further down the page).

The program can also be split up and purchased completely separately if you prefer. If you just want to buy the eBooks on their own, or just the guided meditations, there is an option to do that.

Nevertheless, I think they go hand-in-hand and complement each other very well.

The eBook will take you through 8 techniques and meditation practices in order to reduce your stress levels.

The audios will allow you to follow Victor’s voice as you are guided through the meditations.

This is an 8-week program and is specifically aimed at those of you who have previously considered meditation, but never actually started a regular practice.

What Did I Think of The 8-Minute Meditation Program?

Firstly, I think I should say, I am in no way an expert, but I have been practicing meditation for over 2 years now.

However, I wanted to look at this program in a completely impartial manner and provide a review.A person surrounded by trees and leaves with their eyes closed, possibly meditating

I will also say that Victor quite openly states that there is a reason for him choosing a specific number (8 minutes), as he didn’t want to overwhelm those new to meditation.

He also specifically tells readers that they may choose to go deeper with their meditation practice, and you will be introduced to tips on how to do this at the end of the book.

It’s important for me to say this because I have, in the main, seen good things said about Victor and this program, but there are still those who rubbish the 8-Minute Meditation simply because they believe that 8 minutes a day is not enough to completely transform your life.

I for one will tell you that if you are interested in meditation, then you have to start somewhere.

And I believe that Victor’s style and the simplicity he offers is a great way to get started.

For me, I have taken my own practice of meditation a little further. I will often listen to guided meditations, but in the same respect, I frequently like to sit in complete silence.

Victor’s program is meditation at its most basic level, whereby you are taught to concentrate on just your breath.

Now this may sound easy, but for anyone who has previously tried meditation, you will understand just how hard this can be.

The mind will typically race as you sit in silence, and for many people this is probably the first time in their life that they have simultaneously been still, silent and awake.

Victor likens the art of meditation to working out in the gym. You can’t walk straight into a gym, with no prior experience, and expect to start bench-pressing 200lbs. You’re likely to get injured. You have to start out slowly and build up to this level over a period of time.

Meditation works in exactly the same way. You are slowly, but surely, working towards a specific goal.

Many people, myself included, initially think they are a “bad meditator”. I mean all you have to do is concentrate on your breath, and not allow yourself to be distracted by your thoughts.

But, until you’ve actually tried it, you won’t realize how difficult this can be.

The aim is whenever you have a thought or something that distracts you, simply accept it, let it pass, and go back to concentrating on your own breath.

This is meditation in its most basic form, and this is what you will learn to do over an 8-week period with the 8-Minute Meditation Program.

Most meditators seem to eventually have this “aha” moment, when meditation no longer feels alien to you, and this is generally when you’re glad that you continued with practice.

So, I will say that Victor’s program is the perfect starting point for anyone who has never meditated before.

This is the “InstaChill” meditation for when you’re feeling stressed out.

Product Pros

  • This is a great introduction to meditation for someone who has never tried it before.
  • The eBooks and audio recordings are extremely affordable at only $27.95.
  • You have the option to buy just the eBooks or the Audios on their own for just $15.99 (although, as I’ve mentioned, I think they complement each other very well, but you still have the choice).
  • Victor’s original book has been widely lauded as a fantastic product, and this newly remastered edition takes it that one step further.
  • The program is covered by Clickbank’s 60-day Money Back Guarantee. So, if for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase you can request a no-questions asked refund.
  • The eBooks are written in simple, easy-to-understand language with no jargon.
  • The eBooks will also answer a whole host of frequently asked questions around meditation.

Product Cons

  • The 8-Minute Meditation Program is aimed at beginners and may not be suited to someone who already regularly practices meditation.
  • The product is available to be purchased separately as just an eBook or just an audio, and although the original book was a huge success back in 2004, I feel many beginners to meditation may struggle without the audio recordings.

Final Thoughts

I personally would not use the 8-Minute Meditation product, but that’s not to say that there is anything wrong with it.

It’s just very basic in nature, and uses techniques that anybody experienced in meditation will have used time-and-time again.

With that being said, if you are completely new to meditation, and you’re not sure how or where to begin, then this is the perfect product for you

I had always been skeptical of meditation and it is not something I would have considered before I started my “self-help journey” around 30 months ago.

However, now I practice meditation every morning without fail (and typically again in the evenings on most days) and I don’t know where I’d be without it.
