What is the Sleep Secrets Program?

Did you know:

  • 1 in 5 people around the world are sleep deprived.
  • 1 in 4 Americans develop insomnia every year.
  • Nearly a third of all American adults display the symptoms of insomnia.
  • 15% of the Chinese population suffer from the symptoms of insomnia (which is lower than the rates reported in most western countries).
  • 83% of people who suffer from depression typically experience insomnia symptoms.

Sleep Secrets is described as a comprehensive, educational, and entertaining sleep resource guide. It has been designed to help you find unique solutions to your sleep problems, so that you can finally enjoy deep, restful, rejuvenating sleep.

The aim of my review is to see if Sleep Secrets can deliver on these promises or if you are simply letting yourself in for another sleepless night.

Who is the Person Behind Sleep Secrets?

Written by Ron Bazar, Sleep Secrets is sold as the most comprehensive sleep guide available that draws on the widest possible range of sources. The guide claims you can design an individual sleep solution that works specifically for you.

Ron is very honest in saying that he’s not a doctor and he doesn’t proclaim to be a sleep expert.

But through his own personal experience of insomnia, by co-founding a Sleep manufacturing and retail business in the 1980s, and his relentless research into sleeping habits, he feels he holds a distinct advantage.

Ron states that his insomnia began at the age of 10, as he often got out of bed to tell his mom that he couldn’t sleep. He always found her awake, typically spotting her reading light under the door (she was a night owl who also suffered from insomnia).

Ron’s father was a pharmacist, so getting prescription meds wasn’t a problem and his mom usually gave him a quarter of a sleeping pill. However, this would gradually increase over time.

Bazar, a Harvard MBA, struggled with sleep throughout University, and had to finally rearrange his classes to begin at 2pm, so it would fit in with his 4am bedtime.

After Harvard, he got married, had 2 kids, and also launched various entrepreneurial ventures. During this period he managed to “curb” his really late nights, although he still wasn’t going to bed until 1am to 2am.

Ironically, Bazar co-founded a business called Good Sleep Products International.

He often had customers relaying their sleep problems to him and looking for advice. He had decades of experience in the sleep industry and in 2002 he went into what he calls “research hyper-drive”.

He devoured articles and books, basically anything related to sleep. Bazar also combed through literature and websites to find advice from medical experts, sleep researchers and doctors, as well as health practitioners

Bazar has provided links within his Sleep Secrets Guide to many of these articles and websites, doctors and sleep researchers, therefore allowing you access to much of his own research.

From his research, Bazar tried the ideas that resonated most with him, giving each method enough time to work (which he also recommends to you within his book).

Eventually he found the “sleep secrets” that worked specifically for him and typically fell asleep within minutes each night, rather than the 1-3 hours he had become accustomed to.

Bazar had gathered a wealth of information over a number of decades, but he realized that this information wasn’t available from one single source.

And it was for this reason he decided to bring all this information together in a single, comprehensive source – Sleep Secrets.

How Can Sleep Secrets Help You? – A Breakdown

Bazar is quite vocal in saying that often the advice offered by doctors, sleep experts and sleep research specialists may not be particularly helpful to you.

These experts will offer you advice on how to deal with sleep deprivation, but Bazar says that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

What may work for me might not work for you, and vice versa.

Bazar states that this is the magic of Sleep Secrets – you have a complete resource guide at your fingertips, which allows you to find the unique solution for your sleeping problem.

Okay, let me breakdown what you get from the Sleep Secrets guide:

Introduction

Ron discusses who Sleep Secrets is for and tells you all about his own story, including the turning point in his life, and the discoveries he made.

The remainder of the introduction focuses on interviews with sleep experts and something that Ron calls “Positive Pillow Talk for Successful Sleep”.

This is a series of affirmations that aim to put you in the right frame of mind when it comes to thinking about your sleeping habits.

Chapter 1

The focus here is why the body needs sleep and what happens when we don’t get enough sleep.

He discusses risk factors, such as cancer, weight gain, depression, diabetes, etc.

For the rest of this chapter the spotlight falls on sleep cycles, the best time to go to bed, the best time to wake up, and the importance of melatonin and serotonin when it comes to sleep.

Chapter 2

This chapter revolves around creating a sleep routine that can work for you.

Ron discusses alarm clocks, waking routines and even covers Taoist wake-up tips and a skin brushing routine.

Finally, napping, what to listen to before bed, and sleep, sex and hormones.

Chapter 3

Possibly one of the most important chapters (and probably one of the most important factors when it comes to getting a good night’s sleep) – circadian rhythms, the influence of light and dark.

There is also a section specifically for night shift workers, the influence of red light, blue light, vitamin D, and the moon.

Chapter 4

Chapter 4 focuses on another extremely critical aspect of sleep – the bedroom.

Bazar discusses how to create the perfect environment to make your bedroom conducive to sleep.

This also includes sections on pillows, beds, mattresses, quilts, covers and bedding.

Finally, he talks about the best sleep positions, specific types of clocks, dust mites, and even sleeping with pets.

Chapter 5

Ron discusses the effect of electromagnetic frequencies on your ability to sleep.

This chapter covers various topics, including smartphones, smart meters, electromagnetic frequency protection devices, etc.

There are also sections pertaining to heating pads and electric blankets, jewelry, and geopathic factors.

Chapter 6

Food is the main subject of chapter 6.

Foods to minimize or completely avoid for great sleep. Food and supplements that will help you get a great night’s sleep.

Subjects, such as alcohol, caffeine, sugar, tobacco and marijuana are discussed, as well as pharmaceutical sleeping pills.

Chapter 7

We now look at techniques for both the mind and body to help with sleep.

Ron talks about stress and anxiety, the effects of being overstimulated or overtired.

There are certain “water” therapies discussed, as well as toe wiggling (yes, you read that correctly) and stomach rubbing.

There is a short section about exercise and yoga, before a much larger section about breathing practices, techniques and exercise to help improve sleep quality.

Ron covers mind relaxing techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), meditation, and binaural tones.

Chapter 8

The focus of this chapter is sleep quality for different age groups.

This ranges from babies to teens, adults and seniors.

Chapter 8 takes you up to page 198 and the main focal point of the guide, insomnia and improving the quality of your sleep, has been dealt with.

The remainder of the book briefly discusses other sleep issues.

Chapter 9

This chapter looks at snoring, sleep apnea and other common sleep problems.

Bazar talks about the causes of snoring and his own solution for this.

Next there are the more conventional methods, that may or may not work for you, such as mouthpieces, aromatherapy, subliminal mp3’s, etc.

There is also a short section on dealing with the sleep challenges you are likely to face when you travel.

Chapter 10

The final chapter looks at technologies to help you sleep.

The various apps, devices, sleep tests and equipment that may help you to sleep better at night.

Ron leaves us with his conclusion and his “About Me” page and there you have it.

Decades of Ron’s research and his solutions all in one place and condensed to 227 pages.

What Did I Like About Sleep Secrets?

The main part of the guide which specifically focuses on insomnia and improving the quality of your sleep is extremely thorough. I came across a wide variety of information I hadn’t before. Always a plus.

Ron hasn’t hidden any of his sources and will often link to interviews, articles, and medical literature within his guide.

Ron doesn’t claim to be a Doctor or a sleep expert, as someone more unscrupulous might. However, he has a wealth of knowledge, he has worked in the sleep industry for a number of decades, and has spent the majority of that time educating himself about sleep.

The price – I have read many books and guides on insomnia, and many don’t contain half the information you’ll find in Sleep Secrets and they’ll charge you twice the price. To be honest, $12.95 is an absolute steal for the wealth of information you’ll receive.

Ron is selling his guide through the merchant Clickbank. A condition of selling through this merchant is that all vendors must adhere to their 60-day full money back guarantee.

So, you can basically buy the book, test it for 2 whole months, and if it doesn’t work for you for some unknown reason, you can request your money back, no questions asked.

What Didn’t I Like About Sleep Secrets?

I’m going to sound like a hypocrite now, but…

Even though I have somewhat praised Bazar for linking out to other articles, websites, interviews, etc. There’s a lot of them.

After a while I found I was spending just as much time looking at various bits of information elsewhere, as I was reading the book. Not a bad thing I guess, although it can be a bit of a distraction.

Bazar has many, many affiliate links in the book.

He does mention this at the beginning, and I see no problem with this, as I also have affiliate links within this review (and all my other reviews).

An affiliate link is basically a link to a product or service, whereby the person providing the link will receive a small commission if you buy through their link.

Again, I see no problem with this, if you spend your time researching something and writing about it, there is no harm in earning a small commission for your hard work.

But, there are a lot of affiliate links in the guide.

In Conclusion

I think if you are someone who has trouble sleeping and it is starting to affect your life, Sleep Secrets is a fantastic guide, and I believe it will provide the answers that you need.

The guide is only $12.95 and it offers a 60-day money back guarantee. So, it is far less expensive than most sleep-related guides and if for any reason you’re not satisfied, you have two whole months to request a refund.

There isn’t much information about other sleep disorders, but Bazar has focused far more on insomnia than anything else.

This makes it an extremely comprehensive guide and there is a solution tailored to everyone’s requirements.

With the 60-day money back guarantee you really have nothing to lose.

  1. “Positive Pillow Talk for Successful sleep”
I think that makes a lot of sense. People say it is never good to go to bed after a fight with our spouse or other family members because not only that will disturb our mind, it will disturb our sleep too.
I like the way you break down the chapters of the book so we can know what we’ll get if we buy this book. Thank you for your honest review as well and letting people know about the affiliate links in the book. I mean, it is okay to have affiliate links but if there are too many of it, people might be turned off by it.
Anyways, we can still learn good tips on how to get better sleep from this book. With the price offered, I think it’s not a bad idea for someone who struggles to fall asleep at night to give it a try.

    • Hi Ferra,

      Great to hear from you.

Yes, I agree about the use of affiliate links.

I see no problem with promoting a product if you have gone to the time and effort to research, read and review, but there’s no point in overdoing it.
